We Found Hope
During the lecture phase of our recent Media2Go training Seminar we attended a screening of documentaries centered around the very nation God had been leading us to channel our own efforts: Burma.
With those documentaries telling of refugee camp closures and ethnic tensions in the country, one woman in the audience summed up the mood of the evening during the Q & A that followed. With dejection in her voice, she cried out: “where is the hope?” She had a point. In Burma, poverty is rampant, human trafficking is a major issue, and certain states are rife with sectarian violence. But we had heard rumblings of good news too; real reasons to be hopeful.
After that evening, our mandate seemed clearer than ever: find and tell the good news of what God is up to amongst the Burmese. Divvying the Media2Go staff and students into two teams, that’s what we set out to do.
Below are links to three of the eight student projects shown at the ‘We Found Hope’ film fest on the final evening of M2G’13.
‘Called to Live’ by Manoj Yadav (Nepal)
‘The Journey: Partnering for Change’ by Alicia Zimmerman (USA)
